About Us:

American Solar Action Plan (ASAP) is a non-profit organization founded in Farmingdale, New York in 2000 as the “Solar Energy Campaign.” ASAP’s mission is to research and promote solar and wind power systems that result in the lowest retail electricity price for homes and businesses. Also, ASAP is concerned about U.S. dependence on foreign energy supplies and proposes economically viable means to create U.S. energy independence. The U.S. has a very large solar (Southwest) and wind (Midwest) energy resource base that can fully supply all U.S. future energy needs at affordable and stable prices. The objective is to move from a local electricity supply system to a national electricity supply system in order to produce and distribute our abundant supply of lowest cost solar and wind electricity to local markets nationwide.

The ASAP Board members began working together and advocating renewable energy reforms in the 1970s with the Carter “War on Energy” programs.

ASAP is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible and inquiries are welcome.

What ASAP does to promote the Solar Grand Plan:
  1. Public education through door-to-door canvassing and petitioning
  2. Public education through our website
  3. Networking with important figures in U.S. energy policy
  4. Publishing research in important energy publications
  5. Making presentations at energy conferences
  6. Meetings with key state and federal public officials
